A massive, 80-mile crack just formed on Lake Erie.

Due to high winds on Sunday, a crack so large it could be seen from space split apart the lake’s thick ice layer. Find the video of the ice splitting here.

As of now, Lake Erie is 95% frozen, which is the closest it’s been to being completely frozen in years. Very rarely does the lake 100% freeze over, and with warmer weather expected in Ohio next week, the chances of reaching this milestone might be shrinking. Read more here.
