Netflix has officially won the bid to buy out Warner Bros Studios. Valued at $72 billion, Netflix will gain control of franchises like Harry Potter and Game of Thrones, as well as its film studio and the HBO Max streaming service. Though the deal still has to be approved by the Bureau of Competition, a committee that prevents companies from becoming a monopoly, it is expected that this merger will drastically alter the entertainment and streaming industry. Tradesmen Are the Solution to the US’ Housing Crisis
The US is currently projected to face a housing shortage of nearly 10 million homes by 2035. The reason, however, isn’t due to a lack of land or money, but skilled tradespeople. According to the Home Builders’ Institute, the home construction industry currently has more than 300,000 skilled trade job openings. As the cost to buy a home continues to rise, along with the demand for housing, organizations are starting to put more funding behind early apprenticeship programs and vocational schools to help combat the labor shortage.
