The New Flying Car Explained
By now, you’ve probably seen the videos of Tesla’s new Roadster driving upside down and flying (if you haven’t, watch the video here). If you’re like us, they left you wondering, “How the h-e-double hockey sticks is that even possible?!”
Turns out, the Tesla Roadster can fly because it’s part car, part rocket.
First, fans on the car’s underside pull air out from under it, creating suction. That’s how the car can travel upside down.
Next, thrusters launch the car forward while it’s upside down. Other thrusters keep the car from tumbling through the air and lower it to the ground, similar to the way SpaceX uses thrusters to land its rockets.
For our car and physics nerds, here’s a full breakdown of the parts and science that went into the car.
Voting Shouldn’t Feel Overwhelming
Election Day is exactly two weeks away, and early voting has been underway for two weeks.
Whether you plan to vote early or on Election Day, researching all the candidates and issues can feel overwhelming.
Luckily, the Merit Shop Alliance has put together a voter guide tailored specifically for merit shop tradesmen.
The guide breaks down voting dates, candidates to support, and how to vote on the issues. Click here for the guide.
Of course, these are only suggestions, and we encourage you to do your own homework and reach your own conclusions about how to use your vote.

It’s Pheasant Season!
If you’re a hunter, we’ve got some good news.
The Ohio Division of Wildlife will release more than 14,000 rooster ring-necked pheasants over the next few weeks.
The first releases begin Oct. 24 as part of youth hunting weekend, and the full season opens Nov. 6.
Some release sites require a permit, but more than 20 releases are on public land.

Are the Cleveland Browns … Good?
The Cleveland Browns beat the Baltimore Ravens 13-10 at home on Sunday, which in Cleveland counts as a shootout. That puts the Browns at 4-2. Yes, you read that correctly: 4-2.
Guys … are the Cleveland Browns good now?
They’re tied for the AFC North lead, with a better record than the defending Super Bowl champion Seahawks, the Rams, and every team in the NFC South and NFC East. Somewhere in Parma, a man in a faded Bernie jersey refreshes the standings and blows his nose into a Terrible Towel he’s had since the 2021 playoff win in Pittsburgh.
As much as we hate to admit it, Deshaun Watson is a big reason why. Enough said.
Next up are the Tennessee Titans, who are 1-5. That means Cleveland could soon be 5-2, but we’ll stop there before we jinx it.
We’re not sure what’s going on, but we do know the Browns may have finally broken the Art Modell-linked curse the team has been suffering under for three decades. But as every true Cleveland fan knows, just as surely as the Cuyahoga can catch fire, this can all go up in flames.
