The Kamikaze Drone

The United States and Israel launched Operation Epic Fury against Iran early Saturday, beginning extensive strikes against a wide range of targets at approximately 7 a.m. local time.

U.S. Central Command confirmed the strikes marked the first combat use of the military's new autonomous one-way attack drone, the Low-Cost Unmanned Combat Attack System, or LUCAS.

CENTCOM described the LUCAS as a reverse-engineered adaptation of Iran's Shahed-136 loitering munition, a design widely used by Russian forces in Ukraine. Built by Arizona-based SpektreWorks, the drone can be launched via catapults, rocket-assisted takeoff, and mobile ground systems, and costs approximately $35,000 per unit.

Targets included the country’s supreme leader, military infrastructure such as nuclear facilities, missile sites, and naval bases, with decapitation of the Iranian regime listed as a primary objective.

The Argo Connection

The United States and Iran have been at odds since 1979. To get another perspective on the conflict in the Middle East, you might want to check out the 2012 film "Argo," directed by and starring Ben Affleck.

The movie tells the story of the 1979-80 Iran hostage crisis, when Iranian revolutionaries stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days.

CIA operative Tony Mendez smuggled six escaped diplomats out of Iran disguised as a Canadian film crew in one of the most audacious covert operations in American history.

You can catch the movie on Peacock or rent it for $3.99 on Amazon. Here’s the trailer.

The Lady Loves Her Truck

According to Consumer Reports, women are increasingly purchasing pickup trucks, with some segments seeing female ownership rise to nearly one out of every five pickups.

And this increase is due in part to Blake Shelton's former girlfriend and her 5.7L HEMI.

Why? Because nothing says "I've moved on" quite like 395 horsepower and a truck that could haul away all his stuff in one trip.

Taco Tuesday Salute to the Taco Pizza

When you're torn between Mexican and Italian food, your brain enters a full-blown culinary crisis. Do I want a taco? Do I want pizza? Who AM I?

Over 50 years ago, a certified foodie daredevil named Joe Whitty of Davenport, Iowa, looked at a perfectly innocent pizza crust and thought, "You know what this needs? A taco on top of it." His friends probably tried to stop him. His family may have staged an intervention. But Joe did it his way.

So tonight, if you're the poor soul responsible for making dinner, take time to salute Joe and his truly unhinged, absolutely genius, completely unnecessary, and utterly magnificent invention. Click here for the recipe.
