Bullet Proof
Many consider the pre-1980s era to be the the golden years for guns—before restrictive federal legislation was passed to ban certain arms and designs.
The Steyr AUG was produced in 1977, pioneering multiple features including a polymer chassis, translucent plastic magazines, interchangeable barrels, and integral optics.
The Colt SP1 AR15 is another arm made pre-1980. The rifle featured 3-prong open-tip flash suppressors, traditional polymer furniture, and lightweight Edgewater buffers. Notably, the gun did not include a select-fire feature.
