This Video Game-Based Movie is Breaking Records
Fans of the Resident Evil franchise may be pleased to know that the new "Resident Evil" film is blowing past all expectations.
The "Resident Evil" movie, based on the '90s zombie video game of the same name, has collected over $60 million in its opening weekend, with a global start of $108.3 million.
Even better, reviews have been overall positive, which is nearly unheard of when it comes to movies adapted from video games.
Ed Sheeran Breaks His Silence
It's no secret that singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has had a hell of a week.
For those who haven't been following the drama, Ed Sheeran has been under major scrutiny after tour promoters removed rap artist Macklemore as the opening act of his tour following Macklemore's controversial pro-Palestinian comments onstage. Sheeran has said publicly the decision was the promoter's, not his own.
Upon Macklemore's exit, other opening artists and band members left in protest, and actual protesters gathered outside the stadium during his Saturday show in Philadelphia, leaving Sheeran to scramble to find people to play onstage with him.
During the show, Sheeran took the opportunity to condemn both Hamas' attack on Oct. 7, 2023, and the war that has followed.
Some have praised his decision to speak out, while others have been left disappointed, having initially been proud of Ed Sheeran's stance of keeping politics out of his tour.

The Election Ads in Ohio Are Inescapable
Is it just us, or does it feel like the election ads are especially obnoxious this year?
From massive flyers being sent in the mail to billboards to the relentless cycling of ads on YouTube and TV, it feels as if the ads are inescapable.
This becomes less surprising when you realize just how much money is being poured into this election: tens of millions.
Ohio typically sees a large influx of campaign ads due to its position as a swing state, but this year the state is getting extra attention due to how close both the governor and Senate polling has been running.

Girls Can Be Lions Too!
Even if you've never read the books or seen the movies, chances are you've at least heard of the Narnia series.
If you haven't, "The Chronicles of Narnia" is a book series by famous author C.S. Lewis, later adapted into movies, about a fantasy world four siblings discover when they enter a wardrobe.
A new adaptation of the prequel book "The Magician's Nephew" is soon to come to the big screen, but unfortunately, it's already shrouded in controversy.
Director Greta Gerwig, who previously directed "Barbie," has made the baffling decision to cast Meryl Streep as Aslan, the massive lion written as a representation of God and consistently referred to as "he."
Is this a big deal? Maybe not. But was it necessary? Definitely not. You cannot convince us that Gerwig didn't know exactly what she was doing when making this decision.
