This Is Why We Have OSHA

Let's be honest: OSHA can be obnoxious at times, but there are moments when you really should listen.

In December, Ohio workers replacing a storm drain grew concerned that a trench had become dangerously deep. Federal investigators say they were told to enter it anyway.

Minutes later, the trench collapsed, killing one worker and severely injuring two others.

OSHA found that proper safeguards were not in place and cited the company for five safety violations.

No charges have been filed, but a police report lists reckless homicide and negligent assault as possibilities. The Clermont County Prosecutor's Office is still reviewing the case.

We're About to See a Lot More of Pat McAfee

Pat McAfee. Even if you don't recognize the name, chances are you know who he is.

He's the one on "College GameDay" alongside host Rece Davis, known for a larger-than-life personality and an ability to work a crowd.

Some people love him. Others cannot stand him.

ESPN announced recently that McAfee will be the newest host on "Monday Night Countdown," the network's pregame show.

Love him or hate him, football fans will be seeing a lot more of him.

Oh Good! More Sequels, Remakes and Spinoffs! Just What We Wanted!

It's been clear for a while that Hollywood has run out of ideas, and no studio demonstrates it more than Disney.

Disney was once hailed as an untouchable powerhouse of storytelling and cutting-edge ideas. Now it is a shell of its former self, clinging to the popularity of its past projects.

This past weekend, Disney held its annual D23 fan event, where the company announced upcoming projects, from theme park rides to movies and TV shows.

Of the 13 new movies announced, only four were original stories. The rest were sequels, live-action remakes, or sequels to live-action remakes.

The one silver lining is that "Star Wars: Starfighter," with Ryan Gosling, looks pretty awesome. Read about it and everything else announced at D23, here.

Ohio Makes It Harder to Change Gender on IDs

The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles will no longer accept BMV Form 2369, long used by transgender Ohioans to change the gender marker on a driver's license or state ID. Applicants must now update their birth certificate first.

The bureau said the form conflicts with state law enacted in the latest budget, which recognizes only two unchangeable sexes.

Advocates said the change came overnight with no notice or transition period, calling it a deliberate attempt to make life harder for transgender residents.
