The U.S. Supreme Court is currently considering a case that may restrict President Trump’s ability to levy tariffs on foreign nations without the approval of Congress.
The justices heard oral arguments on Wednesday, struggling with the question of whether the president has sweeping authority claimed by President Trump under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
A decision against the president could pose many issues, including potential refunds of tariffs collected. You can read more on the pending case here.
